Threads

Threads are a series of line drawings that evolve during the process of drawing. Delighted to say that one in the series Threads 5 was selected to be part of the RA Summer Show 2025.  

The series is made up of black line each setting out to keep its distance from the previous but bumps and collides along the way. These accidents of hand and eye start to form a pattern and flow across the white paper. The closer the line the heavier the image appears, the more distance between, more wispish and light. The end results are at once material and tree-like depending on the viewer. To me, they are lines following their own path, coming together to create something unexpected and fluid.
